Edith has inherited from her mother an unfortunate ability to see dark creatures that are confined to dark places, but are ever-present nonetheless. Even having grown used to their presence, Edith can't shake the sense that the creatures are malicious and represent a darkness that is steadily enveloping her. Isolated by her insidious reality, she frantically clings to any sliver of sanity she has left.
